Computerized Calligraphy Addressing of Wedding Invitations

These days, with the advent of highly advanced computer and printer technology, many brides-to-be are selecting computer calligraphy for their invitation addressing and are extremely pleased with the results.

Artist has scanned her own, unique calligraphy "hand"  into a special program which allows her to use her own calligraphy as a personal computer font.  A very high quality inkjet printer is used with either black or colored ink; the results are high quality, professional, and economical.  Unless studied closely by guests who have expertise in recognizing hand calligraphy, your guests will probably wonder whether they were done by hand!  Turn around time is also much faster.

Computer calligraphy is $1.50 per set (inner and outer envelopes) or $1.25 for single, outer envelopes only.  Turn around time for hand calligraphy is 1-2 weeks, depending on work load.  There is also a $12.00 return shipping charge (regular UPS ground service) if envelopes are to be shipped or mailed back to the client.  Express shipping additional.  There is no additional charge for colored inks.  Your return address color can be scanned and matched if you want your addressing in color.

Customer must supply artist with their closely proofread list, in block-style format (one column only, flush left), with the outer envelope addresses in one file and the inner envelope addresses in another file.  Artist prefers this to be sent by e-mail.  The files need to be compatible with Microsoft Word.   Block-style format means you list each line in the guest entry consecutively, exactly as it is to appear, with a hard break (or 2-3 spaces) between each complete guest entry.  If you can insert hard page breaks between entries, it would be preferred.  Click Here to Download Starter Templates.

Please note that some envelopes that are extra-large or have unusually heavy linings are not able to be addressed by an inkjet printer using computer calligraphy.  Please mention if your envelopes are unusual in any way and artist can determine if it will be a problem.  Test samples are available at no charge.

Extra envelopes: Please provide enough extra envelopes in case of mistakes or computer jams. Around 20% of the quantity of your order is usually sufficient.   So, if you have 100 addresses, then having 20 extra outer and inner envelopes would be good.  Unless a colored ink is selected, artist always uses  black  ink. Some types of envelopes have a higher cotton content than others and can cause the ink to feather a bit. For this reason, results may vary slightly in the crispness of the computer printing on certain envelopes.  If feathering is to the point of being unattractive, artist will not proceed with order but will consult client.  This is rarely a problem.

Below you may view the four basic computer calligraphy styles (all priced at $1.50 per set, or $1.25 outer only) which were created by the artist.  If you would prefer computer calligraphy using a standard computer font, that is also possible.  Just specify the name of the font, and if artist has it on her computer it will be used.
